Adiarya Dharmawan was born in Jogjakarta on July 6, 1970 from the couple Ariadi Dharmawan and Herlina Oentoro. Since he was a child, Adi, who is the only son, aspires to become a soldier because he wants to protect the security of his country. He pioneered military education at the Indonesian Armed Forces Military Career Officer School (SEPA PK TNI).

Adi moved frequently because of his duties as the personnel of Indonesian's National Air Force. In1994 he was assigned to serve in Bandung. There, he met a neurologist who was now his wife and mother of his children, Adrizka Shazamira. They got married on December 9, 1996.

Adi is a father who is quite tough in educating his three children, because of his job as a soldier. Apart from that, he is a figure who can be funny and amusing. Since his children were little, he always took the time to play with them even if only for a while. Adi also has a hobby of playing golf, but he also can play basketball and a few instruments that he taught Dave to play.
